At just 5 years old, Hudson Gazsi faced his first battle with Pre-Bcell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Despite his beautiful red hair and lively spirit, he has endured more medical procedures and hospital stays than many children his age. Losing his hair not once, but twice during treatment, was a challenge he faced with resilience. The second loss caught him by surprise, as he had only just begun to enjoy his curly mullet for two short days before it vanished again. Undeterred, Hudson now sets out on a new journey, seeking inspiration for his next hairstyle: long box braids. His courage and determination shine brightly as he continues to navigate his path with grace.

Emily offered us light during one of the darkest weeks of our life. Our 5-year-old daughter, Emilia, had just begun cancer treatment after recently being diagnosed with cancer. Emily offered to color Emilia’s hair before she lost it and Emilia was so excited to have this special experience during this incredibly dark time. Unfortunately only a couple of days after her hair was colored, she began to lose her hair due to the chemo treatment rapidly. Emily once again saved the day and brought us in to her salon where she spent over an hour combing through Emilia’s matted hair and cutting it. Emilia wasn’t ready to shave it and Emily fully respected her wishes. I am forever thankful for Emily’s kindness and the sacred experience she created for our daughter in her darkest hour. Hair2heart is an incredible organization and we are honored to have been one of the first recipients of this amazing service.
